Destiny will find you.

Review

I have been waiting and hoping for this book since the beginning of the Seven Series. Denver and Maisey as a couple had to happen…and it did!

Ok truth time. After reading this book, I kind of wanted more–from the characters, from the plot, and from the love scenes. I know my expectations were probably really high for this book, but I’m feeling a little “bleh” after reading it. Continue reading

Dannika Dark does it again! I love this woman! Each and every time I read one of her books, I am thrust into the Breed world and completely forget that it’s fictional. Her writing makes everything seem so real and alive that I catch myself looking over my shoulder to see if a Vampire is listening in, or if a Mage senses my energy, or if a Shifter is walking past. That right there is magic, pure and simple.

We finally get to find out how the sexy exotic dancer, Naya James, gets her claws into Continue reading

This is by far one of Dannika Dark’s best books to date! We finally get to see a deeper and more compassionate side to Lorenzo Church, who from previous books was a bully power hungry Packmaster. We also get to see Ivy’s sassy side that makes her wise words so much more poignant.  In this book, it is clear that opposites attract. Continue reading

Wino Wednesday – Old Moon

IMG_0506

Wino Wednesday has graced us with her presence yet again! Thank Bacchus! Today I am pairing the delicious Old Moon Zinfandel with the action packed Five Weeks by Dannika Dark.

With aromas of black cherry and oak in combination with the tantalizing flavors of plum and vanilla, Old Moon Zinfandel leaves your taste buds completely satiated and begging for just one more drop. I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and just plain yummy this wine is. I picked up a bottle of Old Moon Zin from Trader Joes for $5.99 (I know! Only $5.99). I am really glad I picked up this wine because the deepness of the flavors pairs so well with the depth of Jericho’s personality in Five Weeks.

Rocker and Shifter wolf Jericho Sexton Cole never thought he would see the fiery redhead again after she bailed on him five years ago. When he spotted her serving at a Shifter bar in his town, he couldn’t believe his eyes. She had been on his mind since the day she left him just as he had been on hers.

Izzy Monroe still felt the knife twisting in her heart from the day she caught Jericho with another woman. The last thing she needed was for him to prove her right that he was a jerk of a rocker looking to score, whether it’s drugs or women. However, as they become reacquainted they fall back into their long friendship and sparks start to fly.

Since you can’t taste the wine through the screen, here is a taste of the delectable Jericho in Five Weeks.

“Jericho didn’t have a mate, despite the two bombshells curled up next to him. He loved the ladies and loved them good…in bed. But outside the sheets, no woman had ever made his wolf pace restlessly. No woman had ever made him feel an inexplicable desire to behave irrationally, all for the sake of making her smile. No woman had ever made him want to be a better man, one who would spill blood to protect what he loved. No woman had ever incited the hunter in him. No woman had ever denied him.

Except one.”

Book Description

Izzy Monroe had lived a life on the road as a rogue wolf for far too long. With the urge to be around more of her kind, Izzy finds herself working at a hot Shifter bar in Texas.  Little did she know that she had stumbled upon the home of her strongest love and greatest pain, rocker Jericho Sexton Cole.

Jericho’s only passion was music until Isabelle Monroe walked back into his life. Not knowing what had happened to make her run five years ago had plagued him every day since. The question is, does Jericho have enough passion to take what he wants this time around or will he choose the life of a lone rocker over one with the wolf of his dreams?

Review

Dannika Dark is one of my all time favorite authors. She absolutely captivated me in her Mageri series and the Seven series is no different. Dark has created a unique world of magic filled with Mages, Shifters, Vampires, and Sensors. With all those Breeds combined, you can imagine the drama that ensues.

The Seven series follows the Cole family of Shifter wolves that make up the Westin Pack. Five Weeks is Jericho Sexton Cole’s story of falling back in love with the one wolf that got away, the sexy redhead Isabelle “Izzy” Monroe. With their kind of history come issues of loyalty and trust as events from the past try to overshadow their progress in the present.

The story line of Five Weeks was fantastic! It had just the right amount of build-up and suspense to keep me turning the pages into the wee hours of the morning. I particularly enjoyed Jericho’s sense of protectiveness and his ability to feel when something was wrong with Izzy. They are true mates in every sense of the word. Their love for each other in human form as well as in wolf form surpasses the love from any mated wolf that I have seen in this world of Breed.

This is definitely my favorite book of the Seven series thus far.  I really enjoyed getting more of an insight into Ivy’s character as she takes Izzy under her wing. I also loved seeing a softer side to the previously blasé Jericho. Not to mention it was absurdly hot that Jericho almost gave Izzy an orgasm just by breathing on her neck and talking dirty. Whew! Steamy!

I would recommend this book to anyone looking to explore a new paranormal world with suspense, action, and romance. This is a 5 star must read book!

Wino Wednesday – Radius

IMG_5228

Today I am pairing the lovely Radius Chardonnay with the stellar novel Moon Spell by Samantha Young.  As you sip the creamy and sweet Radius Chardonnay, take a bite out of Moon Spell and discover a supernatural world of lykans, vampires, witches, and Greek gods.

As young wolf Caia struggles to find her place in her pack and smother her growing attraction to her pack leader, the world as they know it is about to be thrown into utter chaos in a war that has been waging around them for thousands of years. (To see the full review on Moon Spell, click here.)

“Caia sighed. If this guy knew that he was in a room of lykans, two of which who looked as if they could happily rip him apart, the cockiness would soon dissolve and the peeing of the pants would commence.”

Moon Spell, Samantha Young

With flavors of apple, oak, and spice, Radius Chardonnay will stimulate your senses just as Samantha Young’s Moon Spell will stimulate your imagination.

Book Description

After ten years of hiding from her family’s killer, seventeen year old Caia Ribeiro returns to her pack having no real recollection of the way pack life differs from her lone wolf upbringing. As she struggles to fit in with her lykan family again, Caia is thrown into a world of dark secrets that revolve around her very existence. Not only is she thrown into the unknown world of pack life, but her immediate attraction to her young pack leader, Lucien, confuses and frightens her. She just wants to fit in with her family even though she’s so different from them in looks and attitude. Why is she so different when they are all the same? With love far from her mind as she assimilates to pack life, Caia tries to live a normal life…well as normal of a life as a teen wolf can especially when the gods are involved.

Review

Lykans, vampires, witches, and gods, oh my! Samantha Young’s Moon Spell is a fantastic interpretation on Greek mythology with a twist of the supernatural. The Tale of the Lunamorte trilogy is a wonderfully refreshing YA Paranormal Romance series. Young has created a supernatural world that stands apart among the stale and overwritten wolf and vampire themes in YA paranormal books. By involving restless and meddlesome Greek gods, Young has given us a paranormal romance that surpasses the masses by mixing supernaturals, teen angst, and end of the world seriousness. I can’t express enough how happy I am to have found an author with such a wonderful imagination and a way with words. Her vivid writing style made me feel as if I was taking every step with each of her characters. Moon Spell and the following two novels are all must reads!
