Book Description

Jayden Sinclair is ready to finally follow in his brother’s footsteps and get drafted in the NHL. After having the worst year of his life with his parents’ divorce and not making the draft, Jayden knows that this year is his year and he has the captain’s spot in his sight, the first step to making it big time. What he wasn’t expecting was to meet a distraction who turns out to be his biggest competition in the form of the sexy and determined Baylor Moore.

Baylor’s goals in life line up perfectly with Jayden’s, make captain then make it to the NHL. Though she’s a girl, she’s not going to let her lack of male equipment stand in the way of her goals. Falling for a cocky guy like Jayden is the last thing she needs to mess everything up.

Review

Toni Aleo never disappoints! She has given us yet another amazing hockey romance novel. I’ve never been into sports, but after each of these books I want to become the ultimate hockey fan!

I absolutely adored this hockey couple! Jayden is a dream! Like he says in the book, he’s a genuinely “good guy.” He’s in touch with his emotions without coming off weak. He wants to take care of his family and friends and show them that they deserve the best out of life. He’s a true gentlemen, which I think is rare at his young age of 20. With most characters his age being bad boys with attitudes and risky behavior, Jayden is a breath of fresh air with his genuine kindness and love of helping others reach their potentials.

Luckily, Jayden is a patient young man as he sets his sights on the hard headed and stubborn Baylor Moore. It was fun to see her slowly but surely open her life and heart to Jayden. Having grown up with just her father, she’s a pretty tough cookie and a little emotionally stunted. Her need to make anything into a competition so that she can win really bumped up the sexual tension between Jayden and her. Once that tension reached its peak, there was no turning back. Stairwells become more than just a place to walk! If you know what I’m sayin’!

It’s nice to have an author throw gender stereotypes out the window by giving us a female hockey playing heroine trying to make it into the big leagues. Her character is determined to be the best in the sport that she loves and being a girl will not hold her back from being on top.

Clipped by Love is a fantastic book! You will not want to put it down until the very last page and then you’ll be sad that their story is over. As always I am dying to read more about the hunky hockey players from Aleo’s Bellevue Bullies series as well as the Assassin’s series. This author knows hockey and romance, that’s for sure!
